Summary Plan Description (SPD) Preparation Services

The Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) requires all employers who sponsor a health and welfare plan to provide participants with a Summary Plan Description (SPD) describing their rights, benefits and responsibilities under the plan in understandable language.

The SPD is an important document because it tells participants what the plan provides and how it operates.  It also provides information on when an employee can begin to participate in the plan, how service and benefits are calculated, when and in what form benefits are paid and how to file a claim for benefits.
